How To Install Adyscorpius MIUI 4 ICS ROM for SGS2

Adyscorpius just posted a new ICS ROM on XDA for all SGS2 owners! It is based off the alpha CM9 and MIUI but mainly MIUI. Yes, he combined the ICS goodness from both custom ROMs. Here, I will teach you how to install it on your phone! Before you do, here are a few reminders.

If you know what you're doing, you can skip my reminders and scroll down for the installation guide.

  1. The ICS ROM by Adyscorpius is a combination of the latest alpha build of CM9 for SGS2 and the latest ICS MIUI ROM for SGS2 (v2.1.20). It is mainly a MIUI ROM based on CM9.
  2. This is a custom ROM. If you flash it in your phone, your warranty will be void.
  3. Your phone needs to be rooted in order to install this ROM.
  4. You need a custom recovery image to be able to install it. (Personally, I installed CF-Root on my SGS2 via ODIN for steps 3 and 4)
  5. Expect bugs. Once my review is up, you can preview them.
  6. Before flashing, do a Nandroid backup of your current ROM by using a custom recovery image.
  7. Backup user apps and data using Titanium Backup or any other app of your choice. By backing them up, you can restore them on your new Adyscorpius ICS ROM. All saved data will also be restored. Titanium Backup comes pre-installed btw. Yay!
  8. If you didn't get anything that I just said, Google them. If you still don't understand, don't bother flashing this custom ROM.

  2. After downloading, transfer .zip files to /sdcard.
  3. Reboot to recovery mode (volume up + menu button + power button)
  4. Select wipe data/factory reset
  5. Select mounts and storage > wipe system then go back

  11. Reboot and enjoy :)
FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE AND STABILITY OF ADYSCORPIUS MIUI 4 FOR SGS2 (again, credits to Adyscorpius)
  1. After reboot, don't touch your phone for 10 minutes. Just don't touch it no matter how excited you are.
  2. After letting your phone sit for 10 minutes, allow root permissions via Permissions Manager. Reboot.
  3. Configure your WiFi and Google Account. Wait another 10 minutes.
  4. Reboot for the second time.
  5. Restore only user apps and data via Titanium Backup. Never system apps. F*cks up your phone - based on experience. Let me remind you that Titanium Backup is pre-installed in this ROM :) No need to download it on the Android Market.
  6. Reboot to recovery mode.
  7. On recovery mode: Select wipe cache partition and confirm. Once done, select advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache and confirm. Then, select fix permissions and confirm.
  8. Reboot. Your ROM is now fully optimized.

  1. Great guide for installation. The ROM is pretty much stable but with some fall backs like GPS (simply doesn't work) and reboot takes forever!!
